MVWire: Were you happy with the way the movie came out?

JK: It is not necessarily the movie I wanted it to be, but it is a piñata that I busted open with a baseball bat and there are a lot of good pieces of candy in there. It’s one of those movies that you watch and say, “God that was a good movie, I really enjoyed it”, and then you go do something else. It’s not the movie I wanted to make one hundred percent, but there isn’t a music video that I’ve been one hundred percent happy with either. For the most part I think it is a good movie. Do I wish there were some scenes or some shots that were cut out, that some things were re-edited and certain scenes were re-written? Of course! But my honest answer, I believe people are going to like it.

There is so much riding on this that it has to be a success, but the reality is, it doesn’t have to be a ridiculous financial success. Even if the movie does average at the box office, it is going to make money on DVD and rentals. I hope it does well. I don’t need all of Hollywood to understand me. All I need is one smart producer that can see what I have to offer.
